Exhibition film

This is the film that was shown in the Turku Public library all of September 2014. It has texts in Swedish and Finnish, and no sound because of the environment it was shown in.

I really enjoy making these simple iMovie-films. There will definitely be more of them coming, since presenting illustrations in this way gives me the opportunity to tell stories while showing the images.

Summer update

My third child was born in the end of May, so the summer has been spent recovering and taking care of our youngest daughter. But I’ve also been making new plans and done some drawing when I have the chance (follow me on Instagram for updates @kolofont2). There are also four new projects published on Behance now. Mostly with older work that I wanted to display in that forum as well, like this fashion illustration:

…But also with some newly published work. I made an illustration for Ken Liu’s short story The Paper Menagerie, that has now been translated into Swedish.

I’ve also been working on a new SF illustration, but we’ll see when I manage to finish it. Right now my first priority is the baby and spending time with my family while they have their summer vacation.

Immersion illustration

Aliette de Bodard‘s short story Immersion has been translated into Swedish by Johan Anglemark and published on Enhörningen. I made an illustration for it, and it looks like this:

A very fun and fulfilling assignment (especially as the author herself expressed that she liked the illo), and part of my ventures into SF illustration and expanding my portfolio. More projects and collaborations with Enhörningen are to come!

Aliette de Bodard is also a guest of honor at this year’s Finncon in Helsinki in July, where I’ll also appear in a discussion panel on Friday.
